Details

When trying to save an e-mail attachment, the 'save as' option does not result in the display of the MacOS system save dialog. Mozilla keeps the focus and a Sherlock query reveils no attachment has been saved. 'Save all' results in a 'Save all attachments' dailog, but choosing a folder and clicking 'ok' does not save the attachment (one attachment is present in the mail). The use of the 'open' option works fine (in this case with MS Word 2001), but also results in the attachment being saved on the desktop.
Mozilla RC2 Build 2002051005 48 MB allocated memory for Mozilla
After closer inspection, the file actually appears to be saved, but in the wrong place with the wrong filename: Attachment Mozilla's way: filename chosen folder filename folder ------------ ------------- ------------ ------- somefile.doc Macintosh HD Macintosh HD Mozilla The folder in which to save the attachment seems to be taken as the filename, resulting in a save action in the Mozilla folder (in which the program sits).
This bug in the mail/news client may be connected to the browser save as problems as reported in bug #143543.
WorksForMe using Mac/2002072203 on OS 9.2.2. An 8.6 problem? Jereon's comment 3 seems likely; resolving duplicate for now. If this can still be reproduced using a current build, please feel free to reopen. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 143543 ***
