Details

symptoms: - When I press Ctrl-N, Ctrl-1 through Ctrl-5 or select the respective menu nothing happens. - Starting the browser from the command line with the "-mail" option does not work. - After quitting Mozilla the Mozilla process is still in the task list (Alt-Ctrl-Del). I can not start any new Mozilla instance unless I kill the task. I only see this on my Windows 98 box. Linux / Windows NT & 2k are okay. The problem appeared first in RC 2 and is still in latest build 2002051708. I guess this is a CRITICAL problem!
Do you have any builds other than Modern and Classic installed? If so, this is bug 144027

Yep, right. That did the trick. However, it would be nicer if Mozilla detected this problem and removed the files automatically.
That's what bug 144027 is all about. :)
