Details
I have downloaded the Mozilla 1.0 RC2, because it fixes
the XMLHTTP-request-object-bug.
I use it on windows 98 and the fix works fine, but RC2
did not provide an application description.
The application description is evaluated by the norton internet
security, which I use also.
The firewall needs it, to setup the rules. Because it is
not available or better it seems to be a control character,
the internet security cannot interprete my rule definition
for the current (mozilla) application and sets the rule up
for all applications :(
I can change it manually, but the firewall cannot identify
the application description during new http requests again
and suggests to install a new rule (which fails again).
The application description is also visible in
Microsoft Systeminfo. It's the same bad String. I will provide
two screen shots, if I find out, how :-)
Perhaps dupe of bug 138764?
