Expected results:

would like for the bookmard dropdown to have as many internet locations as it did before quantum---------- there are answers in the forum but they are much to complicated for me. would like to see the number of bookmark intert location list be controlled by a selection in about:config
The support forum is over at

It sounds like you're confusing the new Library button (which only shows a handful of Bookmarks) with the old Bookmarks button (which showed all bookmarks).
1. Right-click the area to the right of the address bar and choose Customize.
2. From the customization palette on the right, drag the Bookmarks Menu button to the right of the address bar.
3. Click the Done button to close the customization palette.

No I'm not confused but I appreciate your try at helping me. I am talking about the Bookmark selection at the top of pate on the page on the menu bar. Please help. Thank you.
Please can you attach a screenshot of what you are seeing? I think this would help us understand which part of the UI you're referring to.

i can't get the screen shot to paste here. if you would go look at the number of items you could save when you clicked the Bookmarks on the menu bar and then compare it to doing the same thing in quantum. thank you

You need to save the screen shot as a file, then go to the "attach file" link that is just above where the comments start.

If you mean the actual menu in the menu bar, then you are in complete control of that. Go to Bookmarks -> Show All Bookmarks. Underneath the "All Bookmarks" there are normally three folders "Bookmarks Menu", "Bookmarks Toolbar" and "Other Bookmarks" (there may be a "Mobile Bookmarks" folder as well). Items in the "Bookmarks Menu" will show in the menu from the menu bar.

Please let us know if this helps or not.
i understand what your saying but please read my last note carefully the drop down as you and i decribe does not have as many entries as it used to????????????????? thank you for all your concern and help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sorry, but I really do not know which drop down you are referring to, the only ones we have, have already been mentioned here. I would suggest that you ask for help on https://support.mozilla.org - it is easier to post screenshots there, and they will be in a better position to help you.
i have tried that without much success--------- probably me. please let me try one more time. on the top of Firefox quantum screen is the Menu Screen that has the following drop downs when you click on them separately----

File Edit History Bookmarks Tools Help

when you left click on Bookmarks there is a drop down screen that has the items you mention but also has the ones you have saved/added over time. this is what i am talking about this drop down does not have as many item as as you have saved over time . it only has 8 where it used to have many more, i think, about 20 but now anything you save to bookmarks above 8 goes to other rather that being added to the list that you first see when left click the drop down. hope this helps. again thank you for all your help and concern
The defaults changed so that all bookmarking actions are going to a consistent place by default - that being "Other Bookmarks".

When you click the bookmark star or use other forms of bookmarking, you can choose which folder to put the bookmark in, but the default is currently "Other Bookmarks".

You can use the "Show All Bookmarks" view to move them from "Other Bookmarks" into the "Bookmarks Menu" - you can do this via dragging and dropping them into a different folder, or using Cut & Paste to do the same.

Currently, there is no preference to change the default location - that request is already filed as bug 1412263. So I'll mark this as a duplicate of that bug.

Yea, I really don't know why they changed it, but can't complain because firefox and especially quantum is such great browser and free. thank you again, Johnny
