User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.13; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0 Build ID: 20180503143129 Steps to reproduce: Updated from v59.0.2, to v60.0, and opened a new tab . Actual results: I got the new-type display of what Safari, calls "topsites:" . Expected results: Since the old fix, had previously been applied, and was present in the new update : "Double-click the browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.enabled preference to switch the value from true to false", and was STILL set at "false", I expected the "old-school"-type of "topsites", to appear .

This is because the pref was removed in bug 1433324.

If I can't get the "old-school" "topsites", back, please double the number of topsite-"tiles", in the newer display !
You can set the "browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.topSitesRows" pref to 4 and this way you have 4 rows of Top Sites.
This was intended. Old code was removed
