From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.0.0+) Gecko/20020522 BuildID: 2002052212 For some strange reason, when you try to save an image but change your mind, your browser will then not be able to access the image any longer (until it's restarted). When i first encountered this bug, i thought it was because the web master changed the location of the image (because that's the type of error it says), but after finding out how to reproduce it, i know it's not a website problem. The error given specifically is: The file /path/to/image cannot be found. Please check the location and try again. The error is received even if you copy image location and paste it into the url textbox as well. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. go to http://www.lycos.com/ for example 2. right click on lycos logo in upper left corner 3. select save as.. 4. instead of saving, click cancel 5. right click on lycos logo and select 'view Image' Actual Results: error message: The file /path/to/image cannot be found. Please check the location and try again. Image may or may not still display on screen if page is revisited after it's left. Expected Results: image is loaded/accessible Tested 'successfully' with both jpegs and gifs, other media types may differ. Both RC2 and latest nightly build (2002052212) affected.
WorksForMe using FizzillaCFM/2002051005 (RC2). Alex, which "Save As" are you choosing; "Save Image As," or "Save Page As?" (Just to be certain we're doing the exact same thing.) Can you reproduce this problem using a new Mozilla user profile?
Summary: when image is about to be saved but aborted, image becomes inaccessible → When "Save As" operation is aborted, image becomes inaccessible
