Current nightly on osx.
Just reading an article (see url) and it wont scroll down. A reload of the page, and I can scroll for a short bit. Noticed memory use was very high, restarted, firefox updated. Still cannot scroll. I don't think it is memory use related.
Just did another reload. It seems that I can scroll while resources are loading, then it stops.

I've been hitting this too (and happened to notice this bug for unrelated reasons!).
However, it's WFM in a new profile. Ad blocker, maybe?

Yep, uBlock. WP produces a subscription overlay that doesn't appear if uBlock is enabled on the site.

The subscription overlay probably should not be blocked. With it blocked, the site looks normal except that the page will not scroll. That led me to think it was some funky bug in Firefox.

I get an overlay on my side ("Get Basic Digital"), and it's not blocked.
Those issues need to be reported to filter list maintainers, this is where there need to be something fixed. So whoever is afflicted by the specific issue here need to identify which filter from which filter list is causing the problem, and report the problem to the maintainer(s) of that list.

The attached image is not the overlay I get (even though I said it was a subscription overlay). I have a blue sidebar within the content that has the header "We noticed you’re blocking ads." after disabling ublock. If I reload th
I just have ublock installed, never touched any preferences or added anything. I just ensured this by resetting to default in the ublock settings, and WP stops scrolling again. From my perspective, this is an issue with uBlock since it is default behavior. Digging through filters and trying to figure out who to contact, how to contact, etc. IMO isn't the job of a typical user.
I did make the effort to go to github to post an issue, but that has been turned off.

What you describe has been reported before:
https://github.com/uBlockOrigin/uAssets/issues/2317
I mentioned your issue, hopefully someone will investigate to find the problematic filter -- I still can't reproduce on my side using a US VPN.
My overlay is different but also does not have a scrollbar, so maybe the following filter fixes the issue on your side?
washingtonpost.com##body:style(overflow: auto !important;)

I often take the opportunity to remind people that developing/maintaining uBO or the various filter lists used by it (and by other blockers) is nobody's "job" -- no one is paid for any of this -- these are entirely the result of people willing to contribute and volunteer, and especially the filter lists are entirely built from people reporting issues, and volunteers investigating/fixing them.

Closing this as Invalid, as it's clearly not Firefox.
