Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:61.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/61.0
Build ID: 20180607135512
Steps to reproduce:
Firefox 61.0b12 (64-bits) was installed automatically. (09-06-2018 9.43 CET)
Actual results:
The search engines were reset as if you install Firefox for the first time. Google was the default engine, also local (Dutch) engines were added and Startpage (my preferred engine) was not listed any more.
Expected results:
Leave the preferred search engines as they are.

There were no search changes that I know of between b11 and b12.
Were any other changes made to the machine (antivirus in particular).

I'm at a loss. There's nothing we did around search in this time frame.
It sounds like the search file in the profile got wiped out for some reason.

Hello,
The same happened to me after updating Firefox to 67 to both my machines (arch linux, and ubuntu). I had DuckDuckGo set as my default search engine and I ended up accidentally using Google.

Unfortunately without more information like the original search file in the profile (before upgrade), we're not going to be able to do anything here. We'll be keeping an eye out for issues like this though.
