This shouldn't happen at this point. When did your Firefox update to 61? Do you still see a language pack listed in about:addons? @Callek I'm looking at https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/shqip-language-pack/ And it says that it was updated 12 hours ago, when Firefox 61 was release 5 days ago?

(In reply to Francesco Lodolo [:flod] from comment #2) > And it says that it was updated 12 hours ago, when Firefox 61 was release 5 > days ago? Pike pointed out that the en-US language pack for 61 was available on Jun 18 (RC day?) https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/english-us-language-pack/versions/ The "last updated" info displayed on AMO seems to have no connection to the releases. There are no other bugs on file at this point regarding updates and language packs (and I would expect them), so I really have no clue what the problem could be.

Updated, but it is a tricky operation when navigating in an unknown language. Now it says "Check for Updates" again :) but before it was in Swedish.

(In reply to marco.alicera from comment #7) > Updated, but it is a tricky operation when navigating in an unknown > language. But it shouldn't be necessary, the check should happen when you start the new version :-\ Are there more accounts (users) on your system? Was Firefox updated system-wide or while running your own account?

It did not happen. It might not have happned under 60.00 either, but I did not bother to report it at least. As reported earlier on the first bug for 58.00. I have an installation without admin righs on Windows 7 Enterprise, I have limited rights but I can have some local installations and firefox is one. >Are there more accounts (users) on your system? I guess so, there are at least seven other names under `users`. >Was Firefox updated system-wide or while running your own account? Since it is a local installation everything happens while running my own account (no onelse uses this machine regulary, but it could happen any day)

Unfortunately the other bugs happened when were changing the way we manage language packs, and it seemed safe to assume it was a problem with AMO updates timing (which we fixed).

Zibi, any idea who could help investigate this scenario?

So: a) your user doesn't have admin rights, but you installed the app using this user. b) the update to 61 was done by the the same user, not by another user on the machine. Does that describe the situation correctly?

I'm pretty confused here. In Comment 5, marco pastes: ``` Programinställningar Begärda språkversioner: ["en-US"] Tillgängliga språkversioner: ["sv-SE","en-US"] Språkversioner app: ["en-US","sv-SE"] Regionala inställningar: ["en-US"] Standardspråk: "sv-SE" Operativsystem Språkversioner system: ["en-US"] Regionala inställningar: ["en-US"] ``` which should not be even possible, since the app locale is `en-US` so the category names should be in English. Can I get STR to investigate?

(In reply to Zibi Braniecki [:gandalf][:zibi] from comment #12) > which should not be even possible, since the app locale is `en-US` so the > category names should be in English. Wouldn't that be the case with: - Firefox 60 in Swedish (installed on a user with limited privileges), en-US language pack installed and active - Firefox updates to 61, but for some reasons the language pack has not updated, and it's disabled as incompatible That's also as close as an STR we can get. As I said, if this is a widespread issue, I would expect a lot more bugs. But it happens consistently at every update for the reporter, starting from 58.

> it's disabled as incompatible
If the langpack is disabled, it would not show up in available locales.
I'm wondering if there's a chance that there are two langpacks for the same locale in play - one updated and active, and another disabled. One local, and one global. And somehow AddonManager gets confused?

I just tried, German Firefox 60, en-US langpack 60, update to 61. langpack doesn't update if not active. activating langpack doesn't switch locale. Updating langpack does after reload etc. Both with the incompatible and compatible langpack, the about:support data is the same: "intl": { "localeService": { "requested": [ "en-US", "de" ], "available": [ "de", "en-US" ], "supported": [ "en-US", "de" ], "regionalPrefs": [ "en-DE", "de-DE" ], "defaultLocale": "de" }, "osPrefs": { "systemLocales": [ "en-DE", "de-DE" ], "regionalPrefsLocales": [ "en-DE", "de-DE" ] } },

I'm pretty sure this is happening for a few versions now (maybe more than a year).
I also installed Firefox in English from scratch, but at the first update it updated itself with the local language version.
