i cant send email from hotmail i do recieve ok
i have to go to internet explorer to sen a message

The latest build, 2002100908, won't compose, forward or reply to email.  

The compose screen pops up empty and you can't make address entries.

The text body area is there but you can't move the cursor into it to type a message.

At this moment I'm not getting much incoming but I'm reasonably sure I can
receive email.

I've made a fresh install by deleting all mozilla folders except Plugins. NO Change.

Reporter, do you still see this problem with the latest Mozilla nightly (or even
1.5)? I believe there used to be issues with hotmail.com before but which have
been fixed for a while. If you don't see this problem anymore, this bug can be
closed. Thanks.

Why is this problem unconfirmed?

With Mozilla 1.5, there is no problem. However Mozilla 1.6a and the thunderbird
based on it have problems.

This is very serious bug recentely appeared.

Oh.. I didn't check this bug report page for long time.

Bharat, there is no special step to reproduce this bug.

As usual, smtp server from your ISP is set, and try to send a hotmail
account. It displays "delivery" dialog box, and it stays there for long.

This bug appeared after the 1.5 version of Mozilla mail ( and the Thunderbird
based on it. ). I test this with the Thunderbird, not Mozilla mail.
So, if you can't reproduce this symptom with the Mozilla suite, try it again
with the Thunderbird. However, I think that the Mozilla suite also has
this bug, because the Thunderbird shares most of codes with the suite.

My ISP is the SBC Yahoo!.

Actually, this bug appeared when the 1.6 codes start to be included in the
thunderbird.
If you search the mozillazine's thunderbird bug page, you may be able to 
find my postings and other people's posting.
There seem to be others who also noticed this problem.

I also noticed this problem very often.

Actually this problem arised when Mozilla 1.6 code was introduced to the Thunderbird.
I believe that Mozilla mail also have this problem. Because the Thunderbird and the Mozilla
Mail share same core codes. However, on Windows, this problem seems to be solved.
Actually I also reported this problem, but after I checked that the problem seems to be gone without
intention :), I canceled the report.

However with MacOS X version, Mozilla Thunderbird 0.5+ (20040216) , the problem is still there.
Maybe many of you don't see the problem.
I suspect that it could be non-English language-related problem, althouth I really don't think so.
When I wrote in Korean, then it tends to be stalled.

Here I enclose a screen capture, which shows that "sending" is being halted.

I would like to capture its log, but it can't be done on MacOS X. I followed the guide available on mozilla 
web site, but the "script" file can't be dragged onto the Thunderbird.

Please reopen this bug.

I found some clue, I think. :)

When I write in Korean, about 30 words, then it can send to hotmail account well.
However if I write somewhat longer email, then it can't send to hotmail account.

tested with the Thunderbird on MacOS X.

I got a few words to say about this problem.
1. problem appeared with TB0.4 (i.e. the was no problem on TB 0.3)
2. i do not use free servers (hotmail etc), i got a PostFix on my enterprise
mail server.
3. problem appears when sending 50% of emails and i cant determine any dependencies
4. how to solve: instead of using 'send now' use 'send later' in Compose window,
then click 'Send unsent messages' in main TB window.

This problem is moved to MIME problem. The MIME encoded body doesn't have
"return" code at the end of the body. So this problem happened.

Please search with MIME string or jongam or jsshin for this bug. It is renamed.
I don't know why this is remained.
