User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:63.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/63.0
Build ID: 20180708220048

Steps to reproduce:

Insure your start page is either the Fx default or a blank page.

Enable Webrender preference.

Place an Fx icon on your Windows 10 taskbar.

Click on the icon to start Fx. After clicking, keep the pointer on the icon for about 1 second, maybe 2.

Then move pointer off of the taskbar to the empty content window.

Actual results:

Following my STR the pointer will continue spinning until you move the pointer out of the blank content area like to one of the toolbars at the top.

If you click on the Fx taskbar icon and then move your pointer to the blank content real fast you don't get the spinning pointer. This is why you need to wait a second or two.

Expected results:

Pointer should not spin under my STR with Webrender enabled. When WR is disabled the problem described does not happen.

If I recall correctly this problem happened a while back and was fixed. It came back late in the life cycle of Fx62.

This is probably a Windows only problem as the taskbar seems to be a trigger for the problem. Whether other versions of Windows are affected IDK.

Forgot to mention that if you hold the pointer over the icon after clicking on it for about 5 seconds or so then move it to the blank content area you no longer get the spinning pointer.

I tired this again and waiting doesn't seem to prevent the pointer from spinning. It did so a short while ago.
Please set your start page to a blank page. If any page opens at startup the spinning pointer won't appear.
It appears that two of my add-ons are causing my problem. Nano Defender and AutoPlayStopper. APS is an app on the Chrome store which I convert for use on Fx. ND is a native FX Webextension add-on. Not sure if you want to look into this or not.

Is this still reproducible on the latest Nightly?
