Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:61.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/61.0 Build ID: 20180621125625 Steps to reproduce: Focus the cursor to a text input box to input something like username or passwort from my macro keyboard. Already reported here: http://xkeys.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1709 Actual results: Some of the characters in my macro text are cut down. Like if i want to type hello in the textbox only appears hlo. The problem only appears on text inputboxes. In the adressbar or in the prompts the inputs from the macrokeyboard is working fine.
Michael, Do you reproduce this on Windows version?

> In the adressbar or in the prompts the inputs from the macrokeyboard is working fine. This sounds like only in web content, it does not work. Is it correct? If so, sounds like similar to bug 1441821. That was caused by native key event synthesizer sends all key events as "repeated". What keyboard events do you see in <https://w3c.github.io/uievents/tools/key-event-viewer.html>?

Hi, I tried reproducing the issue on windows 10 using the latest version of Firefox Nightly 63.0a1 (2018-07-12) and the issue does not reproduce, We used a Logitech C910 spectrum keyboard and set a few macro keys on it and tried to use them on facebook login page and they all work. Can you try reproducing this issue on the latest version of Firefox nightly, you can find it here: https://nightly.mozilla.org/ Also make sure that your keyboards or input devices are up to date.

Hi Ok, I have now installed Firefox Nightly and the problem has disappeared. Now I can finally use my macro keyboard again. But i think now i have to use the Nightly Release for some Weeks, until the fix is aplied to the stable Release?

Ah, I misunderstood this bug. Do you see this bug only on Windows? Due to its name, I misunderstood as the tool is for Linux and it also has Windows version. If it's only for Windows, we don't need to do nothing here anymore. (In reply to Michael from comment #7) > But i think now i have to use the Nightly Release for some Weeks, until the > fix is aplied to the stable Release? Basically, yes. However, the bug is fixed both on Beta and Nightly for ESR60. Especially, Beta must be enough stable in this stage (perhaps, next Beta is 7 or 8 (or later)). So, I recommend you to use Beta until 62 becomes a release.
Okay, sorry that I expressed this misleading. Ive not testet in Linux because i only have a Windows PC. It is this Device (a simple USB-Keyboard): http://xkeys.com/xkeys/xk24.php
Thanks, okay, this bug must be dup of bug 1441821.
