User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; rv:61.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/61.0 Build ID: 20180704003137 Steps to reproduce: Occurs when aggregating a download file using Video DownloadHelper. Actual results: Task Manager shows: Problem: (Cpu) 95% to 100% (Mem) 39% to 50% The cpu is red-lined. If the problem lies with Video DownloadHelper, it may be that they are 'mining' for bitcoin type products. Expected results: Task Manager shows: Normal: (Cpu) 09% to 014% (Mem) 38%
I could not reproduce this issue using Windows 10 Pro(64-bit) on Firefox Nightly 63.0a1(2018-07-12) or Firefox 61.0.1(2018-07-04) My CPU usage doesn't go above 25% while downloading a file using Video Download Helper. Could you try and reproduce this issue in safe-mode? You can find the steps to do this here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems#w_3-restart-firefox-in-safe-mode Also could you please try this issue in the latest version of Firefox Nightly? You can find it here: https://nightly.mozilla.org/
