1.Launch Firefox with a new profile
2.Navigate to facebook.com and login
3.Go to the chat area
4.Hover using the mouse over a contact and middle-click
[Expected result]:
The chat should be opened in a new tab
[Actual result]:
The selected chat is opened in the same tab

Hmm, I tried this and it works for me. I wonder if we were being served different content.
(I tried in yesterday's nightly on Windows 10)
The issue is reproducible also on Firefox Beta 62.0b9

Does the contact here mean the left side in https://www.facebook.com/messages? I could reproduce this in https://www.facebook.com/messages, but middle-click the contact in top-right chat icon did open a new tab.

I could reproduce on Nightly and also Firefox 51. Looks like a long existing behavior. Mark as P3, please upgrade to P2 if you have a different opinion.
