User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:61.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/61.0 Build ID: 20180704003137 Steps to reproduce: click on a pdf link in the search results from a Google search. The URL of the pdf I am trying to view this time is www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/lmp7717.pdf. This is happening with all online pdfs. I believe this problem started with the July 5th version of Firefox, as I accidentally had "update automatically" checked. The version is 61.0.1 64 bit. Actual results: pdf file is saved but not displayed. I tried changing the pdf application to Acrobat Reader DC, but that made no difference. Now when I go to Options-> Applications, Acrobat Reader DC is shown, but I cannot see any option to change to "preview in Firefox" to try to use the built-in viewer. See attached screenshot. If I select "use other" various programs are displayed, but preview in Firefox is not listed. Expected results: pdf should have been displayed.
1. Enter about:config into the address bar. 2. Click the big button to bypass the warning. 3. In the search bar, paste pdfjs.disabled 4. If pdfjs.disabled appears in bold text in the search results, right-click it and choose Reset. 5. Also check plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types though I think that stopped having any effect a long time ago. 6. If you reset either preference, restart Firefox before checking the drop-down menu for PDF in about:preferences.
