Steps to reproduce:

Visited https://www.consumerreports.org/indoor-air-quality/how-to-improve-indoor-air-quality/

Page Up is animated.

Expected results:

Page Up should work without animation, since this animation can hurt and disorient readers.

I manage to reproduce this issue on Mac 10.12 with the latest Firefox release version 61.0.2 (64-bit). Please note that this issue is also displayed on Ubuntu 16.04 x64 and Windows 10 x64.

I don't understand what problem is being reported. The page works the same in Firefox as Safari.

Page Up triggers animated scrolling.

Animated scrolling can trigger migraines and nausea, and some users may not want these.

Also, why are you removing someone else's confirmation?
Hi MarjaE,

Please note that the same behavior is displayed with Chrome and Safari. This issue is not related to Firefox or Mac OS. Could you please test this issue with Chrome and Safari?
Flags: needinfo?(erwinm)
I am strobe and motion-sensitive. I can't configure Safari for my safety needs. In the past, I haven't been able to download Chrome due to animation on the download page. I don't expect to be able to configure Chrome.

I'm going to set it to Core - Keyboard: Navigation for further investigation to be done.

The page is doing this. I'll morph this bug into a more general request. Thanks!

To suppress the animated scroll up at pages such as https://www.consumerreports.org/indoor-air-quality/how-to-improve-indoor-air-quality/ and https://www.consumerreports.org/health-insurance/aca-health-insurance-cost/, try this:

Then at the foot of the offending page (or before attempting to scroll up):

  1. close your eyes
  2. key Up
  3. open your eyes
  4. key Shift-Escape
  5. key Page Up

At https://www.consumerreports.org/health-insurance/aca-health-insurance-cost/ Page Up will cease working after the map becomes visible. You can continue with Up until the map has passed.
