But, I don't know whether the profile has been created using a build with reasonable rust optimizations.

Bug 1480477 has a test-case, and the related bugs have some patches. I'll ping Boris to see if he has cycles to give feedback on the general style invalidation approach I proposed, or otherwise I'll just go ahead and write / get the patches landed.
