Details

Using Mozilla 1.0RC3 on both Sun Solaris 8 and Win2k, after successfully
importing digital certificate, when I try to sign an email, I get an error
message saying that 'Sending of message failed: You specified that this message
should be digitally signed, but the application either failed to find an
encryption certificate to include in the signed message, or the certificate has
expired.'

When I check in the 'Mail and Newsgroup Account Settings/Security' window, I
find the following certificate, which is valid and can be used with netscape 4.x
or Outlook or outlook express:
Issued to:
  Subject: E=jnc@oxys.be, CN=Jean-Noel Colin, O=OXYS SPRL, C=BE
  Serial Number: 01:00:00:00:00:00:ED:4E:56:01:38
  Valid from 19/04/2002 15:05:07 to 19/04/2003 15:05:07
  Purposes: Client,Sign,Encrypt
Issued by:
  Subject: CN=GlobalSign Class 3 CA, OU=Class 3 CA, O=GlobalSign nv-sa, C=BE

Another weird thing is that when I check the 'Message Security' in the
composition window, I find that 'Digitally signed' is set to not possible,
and in the list of certificates, whatever recipient I include, column 'Status'
is set to 'Not Found', just as if Mozilla was looking for a certificate for the
recipient, not for the sender.

Jean-Noel, In the Security panel for you mail account (located in Account
Settings) did select a certificate for both digitally signing and encryption?
We have a bug that if on selected a cert for signing, you will get this error
when trying to send a signed msg. you need to select one for encryption too.
You are right, if I select both options then it works.
