Details

Profile manager comes up instead of brower window from Open Office with Mozilla already started in Linux version. This has happened since after Mozilla version 2002051709 tar sea install on RedHat 7.1 and 7.3 till atlease 2002060404 tar sea install. The expected result of a new window appears with the 2002051709 tar sea version. To replicate, have Open Office (I suspect other prg's would work also) open with a document having a hyperlink. Make sure to have OO set up with the "External Programs" HTTP pointing to your mozilla path and file. You may need to explicitly set the MOZILLA_FIVE_HOME in your mozilla startup file. Click on your link. If you already have Mozilla open, you will get the profile manager instead of a browser window. If you do not have Mozilla open, you will get the browser window. If you click the link again, you will get the profile manager instead of a browser window. Another odd behavior that may be related is that atleast with the 2002051709 and 2002051209 versions, the new windows are separate instances of mozilla. That is if I File -> Quit from the browser window that got opened by OO, not all of the browser windows close, just the one started by the click on the link.
>Another odd behavior that may be related is that atleast with the 2002051709 and >2002051209 versions, the new windows are separate instances of mozilla You, you get a second instance but a second instance can cause profile corruption. You get the profile manager because you should select a different profile. (bug 76431) You want bug 122698 *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 122698 ***
