CSSWG resolution: https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/2394#issuecomment-380429078 RESOLVED: Make text indent percentage relative to the content box of the element I filed a chromium bug too: https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=884588 I'd strongly recommend that we *don't* ship this change before Chrome/Safari does. All UAs are currently compatible in using the containing block's inline size to resolve text-indent, so there's a significant web-compat risk here.
I suspect that fixing this bug would also fix bug 1306590.
