Hello,

The average spam e-mail is full of content like:

                      <td valign="center" height="255"><a
href="http://www.knsize.com"><img
src="http://www.knsize.com/img/letter/mail_img01.jpg" width="197" height="280"
border="0"></a></td>

When I select such an e-mail it immediatly starts pulling in and displaying all
that html gunk.

Is there a way of disabling this just for e-mail?  That is - disabling the
following of ANY html links at all.  Kind of like the browsers don't display
images but more strict.



Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Using mail tool
2. Select a typical spam e-mail (one that contains html links)
3. Watch mozilla display it


Actual Results:  (I'll leave it to your vidid imagination to come up with the
images I end up seeing :-)


Expected Results:  Not follow these html links and not displayed the resultant
info and ESPECIALLY graphics.

I'm suprized more spammers haven't figured out that by including a URL of the
form http://sdafasdf/image/<per-e-mail-unique-id> in their spam can detect
someone reading the spam message _without_ the reader needing to respond :-( 
Then again, perhaps they have.

In your e-mail window choose View->Message Bodya as->Simple HTML

I don't have a

  view -> message body as -> simple html

option.  I do have

  view -> message source
and
  view -> message security

perhaphs I'm looking in the wrong place?

This might be 1.0rc3 but it is using a relatively old .mozilla directory.

it's not yet in rc3/1.0, but is fixed on the trunk. Dup of bug 69529 / bug 30888
