The plug-ins triage team (av, beppe, peterl, serge and shrir) have reviewed this
issue and have made the following determination:

The vendor states on their website FAQ that the plug-in is not supported in
windows version of Netscape6, but is supported on the mac version. We need to
make contact with the vendor to understand the issues. Assigning to Arun to help
make contact with the vendor.

the problem seems to apply only to the <embed> tag. i loaded a page containing a
scorch <object> tag today (using moz 1.3.1) and surprisingly it worked!

The nested object/embed approach seems fine to me. The way OBJECT should work is
outer unsupported OBJECTs are ignored and interior markup used instead. The
download page now states Mozilla support and it appears this is working for
Mozilla now. Can we mark this fixed?

the commonly used constructs from sibeliusmusic.com and the ones created with
sibelius 2.11 seem to work with at least firebird 0.6.1, so i believe the
problem can be considered resolved by sibelius.
we should probably test the current version of the plugin with my test page and
several versions of seamonkey, netscape and firebird (maybe kmeleon, too),
before closing this report.
maybe someone should also inform sibelius that there should be no problem with
mozilla for windows any more, so they can update their faqs.
and don't ask me, i'm going to bed now.

Using Firefox 1.0
The following website
http://www.dolmetsch.com/musictheory15.htm
contains four samples using the scorch plug-in. The two small ones work but the
large ones do not load but give error messages saying they failed to load.
(All work on IE)

INCOMPLETE due to lack of activity since the end of 2009.

If someone is willing to investigate the issues raised in this bug to determine whether they still exist, *and* work with the site in question to fix any existing issues, please feel free to re-open and assign to yourself.
