Details

Environment:
Device: Sony Xperia Z5 Premium (Android 6.0.1), Xiaomi Mi4i(Android 5.0.2);
Build: Nightly 64.0a1 (2018-09-25);

Steps to reproduce:
1. Download one or more pdf files.
2. Go to Tools->Downloads.
3. Long tap the downloaded files.

Expected result:
A context menu opens.

Actual result:
The context menu is not opened.

Note:
- the issue is fixed if the browser is closed.
- the issue is not reproducible if a video is downloaded first.

Reproducible also with downloads from thinkbroadband.com/download.
Summary: Downloads context menu not working with pdf → Downloads context menu not working on some devices
May be a geckoview issue.

The download menu is a Fennec problem. This is probably a P3 because, AFAICT, the download works, just the context menu is broken (and only on some devices?).

Hi!

I tested this on the latest versions of Nightly 68.0a1 (2019-04-20), Beta 67.0b11, Release 66.0.2 with OnePlus 5T(Android 9), Samsung Galaxy S8 (Android 9) with the steps:

  1. Go to https://www.thinkbroadband.com/download and download a file;
  2. Go to Menu -> Tools -> Downloads;
  3. Long tap on the downloaded file;
  4. Go back to the previous page.

Expected result:
A context menu opens.

Actual result:
A context menu opens on the previous page.

Hi, I reproduce the issue from description and from Comment5 with One Plus 6T (A6013)(Android 9), Samsung Galaxy S9 (Android 8.0.0) and Sony Xperia Z5 (Android 7.0) on Firefox Nightly 68.3a1 (2019-11-04), Firefox Beta 68.3b3 and Firefox Release 68.2.0

Note:
The context menu for the files from downloads can also be available after a second or third attempt.
Fenix does not have yet this kind this feature implemented, based on ticket: https://github.com/mozilla-mobile/fenix/issues/4417
