Trailing spaces causes cursor to freeze or are wrapped to next line

Details
With user composed text, extra spaces at the end of a line should neither cause
the cursor to freeze, nor leave only the leading spaces to the next line.
Instead, the preceding word should fall to the next line (for instance, if I
typed "dog" with two spaces after it, "dog" should drop down to the next line
with the spaces in front of it.
