When a Simplified Chinese page is displayed, certain characters are blank. The
characters would show up only when highlighted in a certain way.

this does not block Mozilla development.
0.9.9 is old. please try a newer build (1.0 was released yesterday).

I didn't see the problem in current build. Resolve as WFM. Reopen if problem
still happen in 1.0.

Verified works for me on 06-05 branch build.
I think it's same as bug 127129 in mozilla 0.9.9 has been fixed in 1.0.0.

Mozilla 1.0 arrived in the Ximian Red Carpet's Red Hat 7.2 channel today. The
problem problem is indeed fixed in 1.0.
