Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:57.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/57.0 Steps to reproduce: Have multiple tabs open, close (menu or X button both) Actual results: Before V60.0 firefox would ask if you wanted t save your tabs, the Save option is gone. (All the about:config items are correctly set) Expected results: Should have offered to save the open tabs. BTW: I did read some "solution" about a startup option to restore... that's not I want. I want the decision at closing, it's not the same... i.e. it's 3AM, time to sleep, want to save tabs so next day can continue. OTOH sometimes I purposely don't want to save the tabs - just wanna clean slate for the next session... so the Restore Session on startup option IS NOT A SOLUTION - it's not the same at all. Yet again useful functions being removed from a "newer" "better" Firefox.

(In reply to Rob from comment #0) > Before V60.0 firefox would ask if you wanted t save your tabs, > the Save option is gone. Do you mean version 63? That's when the dialog was changed. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/63.0/releasenotes/ > want to save tabs so next day can continue. Your tabs and windows are always saved (unless you're using Private Browsing mode). On startup, you can choose "Restore previous session" from the menu button, the History button, or the History menu. > OTOH sometimes I purposely don't want to save the tabs - just wanna clean > slate for the next session... You always start with a clean slate, unless you check "Restore previous session" in about:preferences.
Component: Untriaged → Session Restore
Summary: Firefox 60.0 not asking to save tabs on exit → Firefox 63.0 not asking to save tabs on exit
Version: 57 Branch → 63 Branch

How is this a solution? So you are now removing features? Was it consuming RAM? CPU? Was it too user friendly? I can't understand why would you remove this.
