User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:62.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/62.0 Steps to reproduce: I typed "example.com" in the address bar and hit enter. After about 8 seconds of waiting, a connection is established and I can view the page. This happens in Firefox 63.0 (64 bit) on Windows 7 64. If I downgrade to 62.0.3, the slowness is fixed. This happens on nearly every website I visit (occasionally it completes quickly, but it's rare). I can reproduce this problem in safe mode. Here's a performance dump: http://bit.ly/2Rh20mr (for this dump, I think I was already on example.com, and just did ctrl r to reload the page) If I bring up the network inspector and reload the page, Firefox thinks everything is peachy. It only shows a few milliseconds of load time (despite the fact that it took 8 seconds for the page to appear). Actual results: After about 8 seconds, the page finally loaded. Expected results: The page should have loaded within a second or two
hi, does it make a difference when you set the network settings under the menu ≡ > options > general panel to "no proxy"?
Indeed it does! That completely solved my problem. My original setting was "Auto-detect proxy settings for this network". I had some text in the options, but I don't think those should have an effect. Screenshot: https://imgur.com/gRlVDfl
great, thanks for the follow-up. in this case i think it may well be the same issue as described in bug 1495024 (that already has a fix in place for firefox 64).
