User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:64.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/64.0
Steps to reproduce:
Press shift+enter in search bar/input on navigation bar.
Actual results:
Search results are shown in current tab.
Expected results:
Search results should have opened in new window.
It seems search and URL input don't share the same code for that. Would be great if they did. However if that's not feasible, beware of the inconsistencies of the current situation (see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1506203)
This is a followup issue to https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=237027 I was asked to add a new issue.

It is apparently a bug in the search bar, low priority though since that bar is in maintenance mode.
Component: Address Bar → Search
