Details

From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020530
BuildID: 2002053012

1. When I import my user profile from Netscape 4.79, it does not import my
address books automatically.

2. When I follow the Mozilla Help instructions, I still can't import .na2
address books.

2a. The Import Address Book Wizzard is on the Tools menu, not the File menu.
2b. There is no option to import Netscape .na2 address books. (List of address
books includes: Eudora, Outlook, Outlook Express, Text File). None of these
recognizes .na2 address books.

----------- From the "Mozilla Help" ------------
Importing Address Books

If you have a Mozilla address book from another user profile or computer, or if
you have an address book from a previous version of Mozilla or another mail
program, you can import its entries into the Address Book window as a new
address book. You can import address book files that are in these formats:
Communicator 4.x (pab.na2), Mozilla (.ldif), tab-delimited (.tab),
comma-separated (.csv), or text (.txt) formats. When you import an address book,
Mail & Newsgroups creates a new address book with the imported entries.

You can also import mail messages and settings from Netscape Communicator,
Eudora, Outlook, and Outlook Express.

To import an address book into Mozilla, begin from the Mail window:

   1. Open the File menu, and choose Import. You see the Mozilla Mail Import Wizard.
   2. Follow the instructions to import address books.

Tip: Communicator address book files (pab.na2) are stored in your user
profile directory (for example, C:\Program Files\Mozilla\Users, where \Users
contains the user profiles directories).

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Mail window Tools/Import...
2. select "Address Book"
3. no option for Netscape .na2 address books

Actual Results: No address book import

Expected Results: I want to import Netscape .na2 address books!
mozilla can't import .na2 files like the netscape version can, because
the libneo code (from 4.x) is 3rd party proprietary.

The documentation should be changed to conform to the current behavior of the
program (it currently states that you CAN import .na2 address books).

It would be nice if the docs also included:
The workaround is to export address books from Netscape in ldif format and then
import into Mozilla 1.0

On the bug itself, it seems that the excuse that the "libneo code (from 4.x) is
3rd party proprietary" is lame.

The code may be proprietary but the user's data is not and it should be fairly
easy to write new code to extract address book data from the na2 file.
