Details

During this shift treeherder presented performance issues that slowed us down such as lags when it comes to displaying failure summary, moving from one failure to another and checkerboarding. I installed FF nightly 65.0a1, used gecko profiler and recorded this, hope it helps: https://perfht.ml/2B7ojG8
Hey apavel, The Quantum Flow team looked at this today, and we have some questions: 1) Are the performance characteristics similar between Firefox Nightly and Chrome? If so, then chances are the problem is in the Treeherder code itself, and we should probably redirect this to them. If Chrome performs better, then there's probably room for improvement on our part. 2) What's the best way to reproduce this issue? Is there a particular Treeherder URL that you can link us to where you observe this behaviour, or is this something that emerges over time as taskcluster jobs complete?

Unfortunately I did not use Chrome, just nightly and quantum. Nightly worked much better that quantum but still had issues. As far as I know, Natalia uses chrome so i'll ni her here so she can offer feedback. This occurs from time to time, i'm not sure if i can provide exact steps to reproduce this, however what we did was just open treeherder pages and load more pushes, then while scrolling up and down or selecting between failures we encountered lags and checkboarding issues at every maximum 5 minutes. Since i made this bug though, i kept using nightly and had very few lag issues, almost to none. I'm sorry I cannot provide more details.

Hi. I'm currently using Chrome,Version 70.0.3538.102 (64-bit). Tried to follow our usual workflow as in: - adding more pushes and then scrolling through them randomly up and down( for example here https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=autoland&resultStatus=testfailed%2Cbusted%2Cexception&classifiedState=unclassified ) - jumping from one failure/job to another and I can say that Chrome is lagging more than Firefox, and it's an issue I come across whenever I use treeherder. However, Treeherder seems to have gotten a little bit slower than before( both in Chrome and Firefox Quantum- 63.0.3 (64-bit)), or at least this is what most of the sheriffs noticed- so I don't believe that it is necessarily browser-related. If there's any other info I can provide, I will gladly do so.

I _suspect_ this is a Treeherder thing, and not a browser thing. Going to put into the Treeherder pile for now.

By Quantum, do you mean the release version of Firefox? Yes, I'm referring to release version of firefox.
