Details |
[Affected versions]:
Beta 64.0b9
Nightly 65.0a1
[Affected platforms]:
Platforms: Windows 10 x64
[Steps to reproduce]:
1. Open the Firefox browser and reach https://sketchfab.com/models/9a20571011fc46108e848ee332c6f6f2
2. Play with the Vehicle (Zoom In and Out)
Expected Result:
Zooming in and Out Fast should go without lagging or noticeable freeze frames
Actual Results:
Zooming in and out from the vehicle will cause a bit of lag and some of the frames might be skipped.
Please note that without Web Render Zooming In and Out is a bit smoother.
I tried to record this issue but theres no 60fps recording programs out there.. not free at least and so in a video everything seems laggy. I'll attach the video anyways but it is not that bad.
This issue was reproduced on a Windows 10 using NVIDIA GeForce GT 730.
This issue is a lot more noticeable with an NVIDIA GeForce 210.

Please also note that on Nightly using Windows 10 with NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 is a lot smoother than on BETA but with NVIDIA GeForce 210 is a lot worse on Nightly.
I verified this issue on Windows 10 x86 with the latest Firefox beta version 64.0b10 (32-bit) and Firefox Nightly 65.0a1 (2018-11-20) (32-bit). Please note that the textures does not loading with WR on and after several seconds the model is displayed as black color.

Just to confirm. This runs well on Nightly with WebRender off but doesn't run well with WebRender on?

With WebRender ON It Runs a bit better on Nightly than on Beta yes.. but it runs even better with WebRender off on both beta and Nightly.

Hi, I managed to get a few profiles using the Gecko Profiler here are the two results with and without the WebRender activated:
Without WebRender - https://perfht.ml/2VICcmn
With WebRender - https://perfht.ml/2VL5qBh
The Differences are minor and barely visible but if you're nitpicking the problem is there, i'm not sure with heavier sites or for the people who spend a lot more time on these websites how it occurs for them but for the 10 minutes of testing i barely noticed any differences.

Hi, I can't reproduce this issue anymore in Nightly 67.0a1 (2019-02-07) or beta 66.0b5, I will mark it as Works For Me for now and I will reopen it in case it re-ocurs.
