User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:65.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/65.0 Steps to reproduce: I played certain mono audio files in a certain way: once voice messages on Telegram once voice recordings on https://voice.mozilla.org/de/listen both are mono files Telegram ogg, Common Voice mp3 I'm using Windows 10 64bit Education edition with Firefox Nightly 64bit Actual results: They only play in mono when I open the webpage with my Logitech G930 headset enabled. If I open/reload the webpage with my default Realtek soundcard (asus vIII Ranger) enabled, then the mono sound is coming from my left and right speakers. If I then enable my headset in the windows soundsettings, then the sound is played on both ears (of the headset). If I then open/reload the webpage with my G930, then the mono sound gets only to my left ear. If I then disable my headset in the windows soundsettings, then the sound is played only over the left speaker (plugged into my soundcard) Reloading the page with the soundcard enabled again and the sound is stereo again. Chrome doesn't have this problem on the mentioned pages. I haven't found any other page that is affected (yet) I've updated my logitech software (and driver I think) to 9.02.65 (the current version), but that didn't fix the issue. If I play a file on soundcloud at the same time, then the file from Telegram/Common Voice only gets to my left ear but soundcloud satisfies both channels. I don't know what causes this, but release is affected as well and I don't know what causes it. I only noticed it today, since mono files are relatively rare on the web. I didn't encounter this on Common Voice before even though I used the same headset on that page a few months back. That might be due to them changing how sounds are played (very well possible, since they changed the websites design a few months back) or due to a regression before 63. How can I help in debugging this?
I forgot something important: Opening the link to the mp3's of common voice directly leads to them being played directly in the browser, but the sound is always stereo. It only happens on these webpages (reliably/every time). I haven't been able to reproduce this with a small html file. (I tested <audio> and playing audio from js, both worked fine with the telegram voice message (stereo))
*not link, I meant URL (you can get the URLs through the network activity monitor of Firefox)
The issue could also be due to changes in Windows 1809 (I updated to that version last week or so)
With your Logitech G930 device attached can you please post here your about:support page.
Maybe those files are being played back via Web Audio, in which case we could have the channel mapping wrong. Reporter, can you provide your about:support page ?

Attached file G930.json —
I created a fresh/new profile and then copied the json info from about:support and saved it as a file. The bug is present in the fresh profile.

I found another page that is affected: https://webaudioapi.com/samples/oscillator/ So it definitely seems to be web audio related
Your Logitech G930 device has 8-channels. I can reproduce the error with my multichannel device.

yes, it has 8 channels. or rather up to 8. it has a button to switch between stereo and 7.1 mode. it's almost all of the time running in stereo mode though. https://support.logitech.com/en_ch/article/18151

I experience a similar with Logitech G933 when playing back this link https://360.articulate.com/review/content/1553b6d0-80cc-40be-be20-13e000fd9615/review

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:64.0.2) Firefox/64.0

I just updated to Firefox 65.0 today, and the link https://360.articulate.com/review/content/1553b6d0-80cc-40be-be20-13e000fd9615/review plays back mono audio in left speaker only when using a 7.1 surround headset.
