1513509 - Cannot open a PDF from any website to Google Drive PDF Viewer

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Fedora; Linux x86_64; rv:63.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/63.0

Steps to reproduce:

Simply try to open any link to a pdf with Goodle Drive PDF viewer as default PDF viewer and you get the error

Sony Xperia XZs stock Android 8.0.0


Actual results:

The Google Drive PDF viewer starts and I receive "unable to visualize pdf". The pdf is not download nor opened. Trying same links with chrome mobile works and Google Drive PDF Viewer correctly shows the PDF


Expected results:

Google Drive PDF Viewer should correctly open the PDF. Or a better solution could be to download the PDF, so I can choose how to open it.

Works for me using an Xperia XZs running Android 7.1 and on a Pixel 3. Did you allow storage permissions for Firefox?

Hi, thanks for your report. I saw bug 1484937 is similar to what you are mentioning so probably would be good to add your input there. Due to the similarity of those two bugs, I'll make this one duplicate, thanks.

Yes I allowed all permissions except contacts
