151352 - scrolling of webpages not very smooth

I've observed that scrolling down a webpage with lots of text like the one given
above via wheel mouse is much smoother in M$ IE6 than with the current mozilla
versions (moz 1.1a on winXP here, moz 1.0 some time ago). In moz the page
contents is sorta hopping up and down whereas in IE6 its much smoother, sorta
gliding.
This is also obvious when using the mozilla scroll buttons for up and down
scrolling.

Has anyone observed the same difference in behavior? Is there an option in
mozilla already where I can turn on "smooth scrolling" or something? In my
opinion this makes it clearly less comfortable to navigate through and reading
lots of text on webpages.

Please give your computer specs. Try to close other moz windows and try again.

Mozilla scrolls per line. The "smooth scrolling" feature IE uses, where the last
line(s) scroll by pixels instead of line is not supported. There's an RFE
however, bug 33966. Resolving as dup.
