1514390 - Not able to activate drop down menus which use <a href>/link (unable to hover)

Steps to reproduce:

There are several sites which have menus which include <a href> elements (links) and you hover above them they show a drop down menu. It seems that there isn't any way to access these drop down menus using firefox on Android. I've also asked a question at reddit without any acceptable answer (https://www.reddit.com/r/firefox/comments/9rjkmp/firefox_android_how_can_i_hover_above_a_linkhref/).

To reproduce:
1) Enter a site which has these kinds of drop down menus using firefox on android, for example:
   i) http://mycourses.ntua.gr/course_description/index.php?cidReq=ECE1015 next to the greek word "Εργαλεία" or
   ii) https://planetfitness.gr/ next to any menu category like "CLUBS"

2) try to activate with any touch action the drop down menus

I access sites like these everyday and firefox is unusable on those (while chrome works with a workaround described at my reddit question).


Actual results:

The drop down menus are not accessible with any way. If you use single tap, then it activates the <a href> (link) redirection before you have any time to tap on any submenu. If you use touch and hold, then it just shows some information and options about the link.


Expected results:

There should be a way to activate these drop down menus, emulating a hover action, without activating the <a href> (link).

I don't know how this would be able to be achieved. An idea would be to emulate a hover action if you touch and hold up until 2 seconds and show the link properties/information only if you hold it for more than 2 seconds (of course the seconds time could be configurable through about:config). Another idea would be to add an option "emulate hover action", or something, at the link options/information when you touch and hold.
