User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:65.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/65.0 Steps to reproduce: Drag one tab on top of another. Actual results: Tab gets put next to other. Expected results: It would be cool if it was made so that tabs could be placed into "folder tabs", that when hovered over show a drop down of the tabs in them. Would make organization of tabs much easier.

This is the tab stacking feature in Vivaldi. It was also a feature in legacy Opera, though I don't know if it's been reimplemented. I couldn't find any duplicates of this, though I expected at least one, since the feature was discussed a fair bit on the wiki back in the day [1]. Please note this is different from the defunct full-page tab management feature panorama [2]. I want to add that whoever will be tackling this should take a very close look at the implementation of this feature in the legacy version of Opera (12.18).
One mayor thing that Vivaldi gets wrong, in my opinion, is that it has no way of expanding the tab stack. This sub-feature is crucial for allowing quick and easy access to all tabs in the stack. Not having this option makes Tab Stacks impractical and a pain to use. Opera had at least two ways to expand and collapse a stack, an UI element and, much faster, a double-click on any tab in the stack.
In Opera it also felt much nicer to combine tabs to a stack. I can't explain the subtleties well enough, I'm afraid. I can say that it was less error prone than the modern version.
I really hope someone will implement this. It's a great feature.

Ah. I didn't read that suggestion thoroughly enough. Never mind then.

Have there been any new developments regarding this feature request? Is this even on anyone's radar? Chrome has something very similar now with their Tab Groups feature. It seems like this is becoming more mainstream.
I think the work on the UI refresh may be a good opportunity to think about this feature as well.

Also very interested - any update on this?
It saves a ton of cognitive overhead and is a must for productivity.
I really want to stick with firefox but seeing this become mainstream on other browsers makes it harder to hold out.

Severity isn't really applicable for enhancements, only for defects.

Apologies, I didn't know. Would it be useful to add the keywords parity-chrome, parity-edge, parity-safari, parity-opera and parity-vivaldi since all those browsers now have tab stacking, at least on mobile.
