Details

STR:
1. Set browser.contentblocking.control-center.ui.showAllowedLabels to true
2. Go to any website that has cookies and trackers (e.g: https://www.windowscentral.com/)
3. From control center, click "Turn off Blocking for This Site"

At this point site will reload automatically with tracking protection disabled for that site.

Observe control center.

ER: There should be "Allowing" label for both trackers and cookies. Since the tracking protection is disabled, it is allowing all trackers and cookies, is it not?

AR: No "Allowing" label is shown.

Tanvi, I think we said during triage that you'd respond to this, right? :)

Thanks!

The allowed labels are not shown by default, but the block labels are. When we "Turn off blocking for this site", we don't show the labels since we don't want to say "blocked" when we don't block.

I think this highlights an underlying issue that it is not easy to recognize when protection is turned off vs turned on.

Leaving this bug open to consider UI changes to help alleviate some of the problems that have led to this bug report.

The Allowed label pref was there so that UX could make up their mind about this particular piece UI, but according to them there are no immediate plans to turn it on, so I'm WONTFIXING this as we're not likely to need to work on it.
