[Steps to reproduce]:
1. Go to https://hangouts.google.com/
2. Click on one of the contacts you have in your list.
3. Observe the newly opened chat.
 
[Expected result]:
- The chat opens without any issues or glitches.

[Actual result]:
- The chat glitches. 

[Regression range]:
- It's a regression. I can reproduce the issue using a build from 2016-01-02.

[Additional Notes]:
- Please look at the attached gif.
- The issue is more evident when there are emojis in the chat.

Sorry for the typo.
I can't reproduce the issue on Nightly from 2016-01-02.
I will try to find the pushlog as soon as possible.

Oana: How does that make it a regression if the problem already happened 24 months ago?

At the time I couldn't reproduce the issue on the build from 2016-01-02 and in comment 1 I rectified the typo from the description. 
On further investigations I found that this issue is reproducing on older builds too, so it's not a regression after all. I can still reproduce the issue on builds from 2012-01-02.
