User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.13; rv:64.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/64.0 Steps to reproduce: I have a date-input-field and when I try to enter second november, I normally hit "2" (in german the day comes first) then I hit "." (in german the dot is the date separator) and then twice "1" for the month. But that results in january 21st (21.1 instead of 2.11). If I hit "TAB" after the "2" it works fine, but it should also switch to next component if the separator-key (depending on language) is pressed.
Component: Untriaged → Layout: Form Controls
Product: Firefox → Core
Summary: date-field does not handle separator → date-field does not handle pressing the date separator key

As far as I can tell Chrome does not support this. When you say 'I normally hit "2"...', what app are you referring to using?

Every application that I am using during the day supports it.
For example Calendar.app under macOS.
