Details
From Bugzilla Helper:
User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.0.0) Gecko/20020529
BuildID: 2002052918
Mozilla on OS X uses sheets for most of it's dialogs. In MailNews when you
right-click on an address and select 'Create filter from message' the dialog
does not appear (it is visible in the window menu). This prevents access to the
message filter window and causes Mozilla to crash when you quit.
I have also noticed that using WindowShade (via Unsanity's WindowShadeX) any
active sheets are hidden and are then inaccessible until you quit. When the
message filter sheet was hidden in this way, the mailnews window could not be
closed and nothing could be done with it.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open MailNews on OS X
2. Find an email
3. Right click an email address and select 'Create filter from message'
Actual Results: Nothing (window in the window menu but not on screen). Mozilla
crashes when you quit.
Expected Results: Dialog or sheet.
Sheets generally seem to be slow and buggy. Despite their 'native' look, I'd
prefer dialogs over sheets because they are faster (only one sheet is visible at
a time and it must be scrolled off and on, try adding multiple filters) and
don't cause these problems.
Is there a value I could place in user.js to disable sheets? That would be a
temporary workaround.
