Details

In Mozilla 1.0 I created a mail list that contained a mail list. When I try to send an email to the list that contained a list, I receive the following error message "An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responed: 5.1.1 unknown or illegal alias: 'test list'. Please check the message recipients and try again." where 'test list' is the "description" of the list that contained a list. It appears that the email program is sending the name of the subordinate list directly to the mail server instead of expanding the list.
this is also happening in Mozilla 1.2b 2002102203 on Mac OS X (Fizilla) For what it's worth, it might be related to Bug 40301 although the bad behavior shown hear is a seperate issue - Mozilla should not create and then try to send invalid addresses to the server. Note that the "addresses" are never entered as addresses in the address book, they are taken from the description of the lists.
Confirmed, Linux/x86, 2002102811.
