Due to the Contextual Feature Recommendations (CFR) roll-out being reversed in 64 (see Bug 1512212), we need to now pref-on CFR in 65 for all users by default.

This feature involves showing add-on recommendations for users if they visit matching websites.

Targeted: Firefox Release 65

We have finished verifying the Contextual Feature Recommendations (CFR) in Firefox Beta 65, after it was turned on by default for all users in Bug 1518321.

QA’s status: GREEN

Reasoning: We haven't found any issues during testing.

Testing Summary:

• Verified that the CFR recommendations are displayed for the “Facebook”, “YouTube” and “Google Translate” websites after the required frecency of 10.000 is reached.
• Verified that CFR recommendations are not displayed for the “Amazon”, “Wikipedia” and “Reddit” websites after the required frecency is reached.
• Verified that the recommendations are displayed 3 times per add-on, but only one recommendation of any kind shown per day.
• Verified that the add-ons can be installed correctly from the CFR doorhanger.
• Verified that the recommendations are respecting the browser’s dark theme.
• Verified that the CFR’s telemetry pings are not containing the “message_id” and the “client_id”.

Tested Platforms:

• Windows 10 x64;
• Arch Linux 4.16.6 x64;
• Mac 10.13.3.

Tested Firefox versions:

• Firefox Beta 65.0b11 (Build ID - 20190114172331).
