Marina, might this be a DUP of a bug you own?
reporter, could you please indicate the name of the newsgroup you're subscribing
to? I have several chinese newsgroups with mime, nomime chinese headers in big5
and i never crashed.Thanks.
Well, the reporter hasn't commented back yet. Mike, I remember talking about
Chinese support in news, but wasn't sure of the implementation.

the news server is exchange 2000
and outlook show that is ok,but mozilla and lotus notes do not deal with.
mozilla while crash and lotus whilee show message topic is ilegal(?).both
mozilla and lotus notes don't coreect show topic .
I was looking at chinese support for the newsgroup names.

Best server for Chinese newsgroup (and newstopic) testing is news.newsfan.net -
I haven't seen crashes using it though, it just doesn't display right.
Reporter: Is this still a problem with a current Mozilla build (the crash, the
broken name is covered by Bug 126453)?
some news group may be microsoft nntp have this problom .in unix no this peoblem
i will recheck this problem
news:newsfan.net
1.6 and 1.7 alpha have this problem
this may be newsfan.net not standard nntp
Product: Browser → Seamonkey

The group names on this server are in GB encoding => Dupe of bug 126453

There has been a version of mozilla that crashed in that case, it couldn't
handle the case where the name content was not US-ASCII, but it's not more the
case since a long time.
