[Affected versions]:
Nightly 66.0a1

[Affected platforms]:
Windows 7/10 x64
Mac OS 10.13
Ubuntu 16.04

[Steps to reproduce]:

  1. Go to any youtube video by directly pasting the address in the URL, such as: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9FkexwDktw
  2. The video playback is blocked by the feature. Check the Blocked Icon and Site Information panel - the blocked icon should appear as well as the "Automatically played video with sound - blocked" status under Permissions
  3. Click on any other video from Youtube from the list on the right side of the page

[Expected]:
The video should be played back and the Blocked icon should not be displayed in the URL bar given that there is no media blocked.

[Actual Results]:
The video is played back while the Blocked Icon is also displayed in the URL bar. If the Site Information panel is opened the "You have not granted this site any special permissions" message is displayed under Permissions.

There's some UI confusion here. Only unprompted audio is "Blocked", not all audio. That said, I've heard several people (and myself) instinctively react with surprise when they hear audio and see the word "Blocked" at the same time. A UX issue IMHO.

That said, the Page info inconsistency you mention feels like a bug.

Last time I discussed this issue with UX, they said the block icon doesn't reflect the actual page status, so it won't disappear even when user have activated page by user gestures (which means allow autoplay afterward).

NI Jacqueline for confirming the correct behavior again.

Yes this is right, I tried to follow the popup blocker example here. The control panel is displaying your setting for the page, not necessarily the current status of blocked audio on the page. This way they will also know and can control what the behaviour will be when they return to the page again. I am happy to talk this one through if there are more concerns about it though :)
