Steps to reproduce:
Similiar without reasons firefox wouldn't show any website but the message box couldn't load xpcom
Actual results:
I have to delete the profile and sometimes to reinstall but I don't want to waste that time so often.
Expected results:
firefox should start and not have problems beacause some informations in profile

Do you have any third party security software installed ?
Broken security software is usually the reason for this.
Please attach via the "attach file" link in this bug report the about:support page as a textfile.
I never had a problem like this in over 10 years using Firefox. This is something special at your system.

The error message means that the Firefox.exe can not load the xpcom.dll that is inside the same application directory.
Either the file is gone, damaged or it's the wrong version of the file.
Firefox itself doesn't touch the application directory but the updater does.
Do you get this only after an update of Firefox ?
We had such cases only years ago with AV software that had some broken virtualization feature.
I do not know if your "McAfee VirusScan" contains such broken features but I didn't see a recent report from any of our users about such an issue.

I don't have any great suggestions. The error message comes about because we can't load bits from the application directory, as comment 4 suggests. Combining that knowledge with the report in comment 0 that deleting the profile makes things work again means that something very strange is going on. I guess it's possible particular files in the directory might be corrupt in some way (hard drive errors, antivirus, etc. etc.) and that would be causing problems?
torecki, is it possible for you to provide a list of files in your profile directory when Firefox fails to start, and a list of files in your profile directory when Firefox successfully starts? That wouldn't give us any information about their contents, but maybe a simple listing would suggest something.

Hi, I saw that other bugs are triggered with the component "Core Graveyard - Java to XPOCOM Bridge". I will set this issue to a similar component and someone with more experience could change it to another if isn't the right one.
