Patch review comments in bugzilla are in plain text, but replies to these comments use markdown, and convert +/- lines in the patch to bullet points which make the comment very difficult to read. See bug 1520972 comment 5 for an example. Would it be possible for these replies to either not use markdown, or have an easy way to disable markdown when commenting? (I don't see anything in the comment UI or in my user preferences to avoid using markdown.)

Bug 1476107 allows to disable Markdown in the comment editor. We also need to support <input type="hidden" name="markdown_off" value="1">
just like the attachment page to actually disable Markdown in the posted comment.
