Make a PPA repo for Firefox Developer Edition

Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:66.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/66.0
Steps to reproduce:
Attempt to install Firefox Developer Edition via apt on Ubuntu
Actual results:
There's no active PPA that allows installing/updating those builds. The Aurora channel seems to have been deprecated, and this (https://askubuntu.com/a/548005/133672) comprehensive answer only lists (effectively) "download the tar, and make a .desktop file".
I would be nice if a repository of these editions could be maintained by Mozilla.
Expected results:
sudo apt-add-repository ppa:....
sudo apt install firefox-dev-edition

Matthias, the bug you've cited is from 15 years ago, and is hardly relevant for today.
Firefox does have ppas for the nightlies and beta channels, and used to have an aurora channel, which got deprecated.
This is not a duplicate of 247293.

Can you clarify how the cited bug is irrelevant? Mozilla does not provide PPAs for any channel of Firefox.

That's fair! Who is currently providing https://launchpad.net/~mozillateam/+archive/ubuntu/firefox-next? The site names "Mozilla Team" as the owner of the PPA, I assumed it meant that the Firefox team is managing it.

I somehow missed the response from comment#2.
Mozilla never had a PPA and never provided Firefox as a RPM or deb package.
The existing PPA for nightly builds as example is provided by someone else and not Mozilla as far as I know.
Mozilla provides builds as compressed tarballs on the "ftp" (1) for testing purposes.
Builds for the users are always compiled and created by the distributions.
You will not see Linux builds in a package Manager format on the "ftp" for that reason.

Again, the "firefox-next" PPA is listed as owned by the Mozilla Team, lists itself as the "official PPA for firefox builds", and generally gives off an air of being owned by Mozilla and Firefox.
If that's not the case, could it be clarified? Also, who should I turn to with this feature request if not to Firefox themselves.
I would also like to reiterate that there used to be a PPA and it was retired, presumably by Mozilla.

Again, there was never a PPA by Mozilla but rather by the unofficial Mozilla-team and the Mozilla-Team is not Mozilla.
They are AFAIK a group of people from the Ubuntu community who maintain and provide the Builds for Mozilla.org products for Ubuntu users.
You have to ask at Ubuntu or ask directly the Members of the Ubuntu Mozilla-Team about the status of those builds and who generates them.

Gotcha! Thank you for your time and your explanation!
