From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1) BuildID: 2002053012 Since I don't really want to tie my MSN passport to my Windows XP login, I decided to use Mozilla to do it. Unfortunately, I see the following error message when I attempt to create a new passport: Microsoft® .NET Passport no longer supports the Web browser version you are using. Please upgrade to a current Web browser, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 or later, or Netscape Navigator version 4.08 or later. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to http://groups.msn.com/home.msnw?pgmarket=en-us 2. Click on 'Sign In' 3. Click on 'Create a Passport' 4. Screen with error message appears. Expected Results: Their site should work, as Mozilla is a "greater" browser than NS4.0.8! This isn't per-se a bug with Mozilla - it's a bug with Microsoft. However, it leaves me wondering how closely MSN is tied to the IE browser, and whether it constitutes "product tying". Mozilla is as capable as IE, and I can't imagine what they might be doing on their registration page that won't work under Mozilla, yet will on IE/NS 4+.
