Note

  • When the user plans a trip in Google Maps and attempts to use the Send to phone feature with a keyboard-only operation, he will notice that he cannot finish the process.

Affected versions

  • Nightly v67.0a1 (2019-02-15) (arch64 build)

Affected platforms

  • Windows 10 v1803 on Lenovo Yoga (not table mode)

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open https://www.google.com/maps
  2. Create a trip from Cluj-Napoca, Romania to Paris, France.
  3. Choose any of the available route options.
  4. Select the "Send to phone" icon button and select it.
  5. Choose any of the available sending to phone options and select it using keyboard-only operation.

Expected result

  • The options can be scrolled through by the use of the physical "Tab" key and can be selected the pressing the "Enter" key.

Actual result

  • The highlight appears to be incorrectly displayed when scrolling through the options and the options cannot be selected by pressing the physical "Enter" key.

Additional notes

  • This issue also occurs on Chrome and EDGE browsers.

    So this sounds like a web site bug.

Web sites can control how sequential navigation (Tab key) works, so I guess Google maps has broken sequential navigation handling.
