Steps to reproduce:

Created a textbox linked to datalist inside shadowDOM

See https://www.webcomponents.org/element/xtal-material, look at demo, select hamburger menu, text demos, and focus on Favorite Netflix series

Actual results:

Dropdown not appearing

Expected results:

Should get dropdown

Thanks for the bug report!
i see you're new to Bugzilla, so you might not have fully understood what went on ^^

The bug you reported was already known to the Firefox engineers. It's bug 1489440
This bug was fixed recently by Firefox engineers. However, their fix is not noticeable yet because of how Firefox release works

Long story short, everyone will have the correct behavior in Firefox 66 which will be released on March 19th
